This was a period when Kuta was regarded as the center of Bali’s tourism industry for international travelers. Initially, Bali Niksoma Boutique Beach Resort had only 10 cottages. It was a place where the owners, who were based in Jakarta at that time, could retreat for holidays to escape urban life and relish in the warm embrace of Balinese hospitality. During that period, the architecture of Bali Niksoma Boutique Beach Resort was deeply rooted in authentic Balinese ambiance, as you can see in the photo, the surroundings were lush with abundant trees, and the building structure consisted of two floors with a staircase that blended seamlessly with nature. From the outset of its construction, the owner has also been contemplating hotel facilities, such as a swimming pool and bar & restaurant.
FROM BALI NIKSOMA BEACH COTTAGES TO BALI NIKSOMA BOUTIQUE BEACH RESORT
The highly strategic location became an appealing factor for the development of Bali Niksoma Boutique Beach Resort. The owner at that time, initiated a substantial expansion. The Bali Niksoma Beach Cottages gets its name from ‘Niksoma,’ which in Sanskrit means ‘savings’ and was owned by the Agung family in 1983, but the management responsibilities were entrusted to an external party. After undergoing renovation and being transformed into a boutique hotel, it was rebranded as the Bali Niksoma Boutique Beach Resort. Under the stewardship of the owner’s son, Mr. Anak Agung Gde Prastista, assuming full managerial responsibility for Bali Niksoma Boutique Beach Resort, he was prepared to enchant a broader spectrum of travelers. When the property reopened in 2003, it had undergone a complete transformation, emerging as an elegant resort that breathed new life into Legian.
